“The fountain of life” è un flusso di coscienza che scorre impetuoso alla ricerca della sorgente primordiale e caotica della nostra esistenza. I temi della guerra, del desiderio d’immortalità, della consapevolezza di sé, dell’apocalisse imminente si frammentano all’interno di una narrazione irregolaree molteplice.
“The fountain of life” is a flow of consciousness that slides fiery in search of the chaotic source of our existence. The issues of the war, the wish of immortality, the self-awareness, the coming apocalypse, break up into an uneven and manifold narrative.
In questo modo, il film scompone e ricompone memorie collettive e brandelli di vita di alcuni personaggi strappati per qualche breve istante al movimento incessante e caotico degli eventi.
In this way, the short movie breaks down and recomposes collective memories and shred of the life of some characters that were torn, for a short while, to the relentless and chaotic movement of the events.
Il progetto nasce da una ricerca sul caos e sulle dinamiche che attraversano le società contemporanee, basate sulla manipolazione dell’immaginazione collettiva per il controllo integrale sull’uomo e sulla natura. C. Jung ci ricorda però che la consapevolezza è un atto rivoluzionario, che scardina la nostra identità e la realtà stessa. Un montaggio frenetico altera frammenti di guerra in Medio Oriente con immagini girate nell’Europa meridionale dove le terre dell’Ordine si affacciano sulle terre del Caos. In questa narrazione parallela si accavallano le stagioni dell’uomo, l’infanzia, la vecchiaia, mentre la tensione verso l’infinito prende corpo nelle cellule immortali di Henrietta Lacks.The project comes from a research on the caos and on the dynamics that cross contemporary societies based on the manipulation of the collective imagination, for a complete control of humans andnature. C. Jung remind us that consciousness is a revolutionary facts that undermines our identity and the reality itself. A frenetic montage alters fragments of war in the Middle East with images shot in southern Europe where the lands of the Order overlook the lands of Chaos. In this parallel narrative the seasons of man, childhood, old age overlap, while the tension towards infinity takes shape in the immortal cells of Henrietta Lacks.
